Pat Preston,a woman admired throughout the RE/MAX organization for her courage and determination, was raised on a farm in Kentucky, and it there that she first learned the meaning of hard work. Her mom,a registered nurse was her role model;so Pat first earned her medical tech degree and pursued a career in medicine before realizing it wasn't the field for her. She went on to cosmetology school and after seventeen years of owning her own salon, Pat earned her Real Estate license. In 1999 Pat joined "RE/MAX - the greatest Real Estate Company in the World!" By 2005 she became Broker/Co-Owner of RE/MAX 1st Olympic, with a dynamic team of three business partners, associates and staff who all share her determination to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
As a Real Estate Broker/Owner,former beauty salon owner, and breast cancer survivor, I can honestly say that every day unveils the most amazing life lessons. It was in my beauty salon that I learned the importance of being flexible with whatever personality was sitting in my chair, how to answer each customer needs, and when to provide gentle guidance. I attributed much of my success to building my business from referrals and held weekly open house "gratitude" parties at my salon. All these experiences were the perfect precursor to my career in Real Estate.
But it was my treasured advice my mom,dad and grandparents shared during my childhood that prepared me to win over life's challenges. They would say, "There's no free lunch Trish, so go after what you want, do it honestly, and it will happen." And it did. I happily married, going beyond my goals in business, and now in Real Estate. The will to win helped me confront breast cancer in 2004. Today, my cancer is in remission and I am loving life! I am forever grateful to my mother and my husband who never left my side. My husband also came to my rescue by getting licensed in Real Estate to help me professionally while I recovered.
At times work was the most important focus in my life, now it is lifting the spirit of others. I love making people smile. At a RE/MAX convention, I modeled in a Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Charity Fashion Show . Sensing the somber mood, I removed my wig to show my bald head as I strutted down the runway. It changed the atmosphere. Everyone relaxed and applauded wildly!
Remember, it's not about your circumstances, it about your concern for others. It creates your companies reputation and your reputation. It made it possible for me to participate in attracting 53 agents to RE/MAX in a fourteen month period. The relationship between friendly customer staff and loyal customers is beyond measure! You don't need more sales techniques - you need more friends! Living life forward begins with counting your blessings! I look for ever opportunity to see the best in everyone.! I also "SEE" the sky, the mountains, and my beautiful family and friends - especially my amazing husband, Byron , the love of my life!
